You bring up a great point; intermediate/advanced online marketers are usually worrying about all of the small details which they are aware of which can go wrong. But as a beginner you are unaware of that which makes it a lot easier to simply do the work and see progress.

Sure, you might stumble, but you would have already done a lot of the work, where an intermediate marketer might not have due to the fear of failure.

Excellent article, Lonnie. Marketing in any niche is very herd work. Working smarter keeps you from spinning your wheels and going nowhere. That is the reason many marketers fail online. They flit from one product to another hoping for the big payoff that many promise, but never achieve.

Whereas, if they were to stick with one topic that interests them and learn all they could on that topic, they would become knowledgeable and people would perceive them as an expert. Which, would increase their income substantially.

There are so many IM products out there that promise instant wealth. There’s no such thing in any business. Let’s face it it takes hard work. But as you say if you make that “smart work” a lot more gets done and you’ll succeed that much faster.
I also like the comment about making if a habit. I’m like Brett in the fact that I need to work at working smarter and make it a habit

Still struggling with getting rid of the busy work that does nothing for my bottom line, but getting much better. Still have a ways to go yet though.

The key is definitely to focus on what makes you money and get rid of the busy work that doesn’t.
